Welcome

Super Smash Bros

Code of Conduct

*No Cheeto Hands.

*No smelling like mess.

*No hating on other players.

*etc.

This Code of Conduct is required to be followed by ALL Participants of Smash Nights and/or Smash Tournaments. Failure to follow the guidelines below may result in limited time ban from the event.

Hygiene and Cleanliness

Smash night is not a very big event and held in a somewhat limited space. We request that any attendees of ANY Smash event at ZMPC mind their personal hygiene for your own sake. Others around you will appreciate it too. Seriously, no one takes joy in being around a smelly person in an enclosed space.

(???rules on food and drink at events???) When refreshments are available and you have been delving head first into them, please wash your hands before using any facility or other’s equipment (controllers, switches, etc.). It seems like common knowledge to abide by this, but for whatever reason it feels like its necessary to include this rule because why not. No one wants Cheeto hands on their controllers!

Conduct During Matches (Spectators)

This one is for during matches and especially tournaments. There will be no heckling during matches including but not limited to:

  • Distracting players from focusing in the match with physical gestures

  • Give a player the upper hand by interfering with gameplay

  • Words or gestures directed at player to hinder performance

  • Trying to get the attention of the players with the intention of making them mess up.

We understand that matches get competitive, but please have respect for your fellow smashers. 😊

Conduct During Matches (Players)

While players are in-match, they must follow the following guidelines:

  • Do not Distract opponents from focusing on the match with physical gestures

  • Do not Interfere with gameplay in any way

  • Do not direct words or gestures that might hinder a player’s performance

  • Pausing is not allowed during tournament matches as per the tournament rules. Accidents happen, but this function can be turned off in game.

Tournament Specific Conduct Rules

  • Unless consented by the opponent, unplugging yours or your opponent’s controller mid-game will result in an automatic loss

  • Unless consented by the opponent, pausing a match will result in a game loss for the player that paused the game (pausing can be disabled in the settings)

  • Quitting a match will result in a game loss to the quitter

  • Turning the console off mid-game will result in a game loss

Interfering with a match by way of ANY of the above items without both/all players consent will result in an automatic game loss for the player/team of the offender.
